I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (Distinction) from Massey University in New Zealand (2006), an MSc in Counselling Psychology (Distinction) from the University of East London (2000) and a Diploma in Counselling from CSCT in London (1998). I also have a first degree in Psychology from the University of Warwick (1984).
As part of my professional and ethical commitment to maintain and develop my skills I engage in regular Continuing Professional Development. This includes taking specialist short courses, writing for publication and presenting at professional conferences.
Recent training has included: using between-session assignments effectively, working to increase resilience, using Interactive Drawing Therapy, supervising the work of fellow professionals, and in couple counselling.
I have a particular interest in the experience of counselling for trainee therapists and counsellors, and in working with cultural diversity. My publications include papers on working with Maori clients, living and working overseas, and research into therapy for counsellors.
